Hi, I’m James.

I’m a product-driven operator with a background in building, scaling, and running consumer and business software platforms. My work sits at the intersection of product, engineering, partnerships, and growth—turning early ideas into products people use and businesses that can support them.

Today, I’m Chief Operating Officer at Pragma and FirstLook. I work across the teams and tools that help studios bring games to players, from backend services and player relationships to discovery and creator campaigns through Player.gg and Creators.gg.

Previously, I co-founded and led FreshCut, a social video platform for gaming and Roblox communities. Before that, I led global business development and partnerships at Twitch, working on developer products, publisher relationships, and Twitch–Amazon initiatives. At Microsoft, I worked in Xbox Studios’ external development and publishing, alongside teams supporting Halo, Gears of War, Age of Empires, and casual games.

I’m also a co-founder of Games Growth Guild, a community where games industry professionals share what they’re learning about marketing, publishing, and growth.

In 2019, I served as Gold House Open Lead in San Francisco, leading Gold House community opens for The Sun Is Also a Star, The Farewell, Parasite, Ms. Purple, and Always Be My Maybe.

What I work on

Consumer apps. Platforms for developers and creators. Tools that help communities form and grow. I’m interested in how a product gets from its first useful version to something that people return to—and in building the team and operations that make that possible.
